A snapshot of yesterday's action packed match between Samoa A and Tonga A. PC - Manu Samoa

14 March, 2018. – Samoa A has had its first victory for the 2018 World Rugby Pacific Challenge, after thrashing Tongan archrivals with a final score of 40 -10 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

Scoring the first try of the match was winger Fetuli Paea – by the 6th minute, Tonga led 5-0, but the conversion was unsuccessful.

Minutes later, fullback Ricky Ene raced away scoring a try for Samoa, while D’Angelo Leuila placed Samoa in the lead with a successful conversion and score of 7-5.

The men in blue dominated the second half scoring three converted tries from Full-back, Ene, Hooker, Gafa Suva and Half-back, Iosua Faalele.

Samoa A is set to play Junior Japan in the final match at 1pm this Saturday 17th March, while Tonga, who is officially out of the competition after two losses, will play the Fiji Warriors at 3.30pm.
